Psithurism and Stars

Psithurism and Stars

“I don’t know anything with certainty, but seeing the stars makes me dream.”
— Vincent Van Gogh

I've been sick and pretty busy as of late without many photo opportunities, but that all changed this last week! First I did a shoot for a beautiful tree farm, followed by a wedding, and ended my week with another tree farm!

My most recent shoot was my favorite. However, let me share with you a couple shots from Big Trees Today to start you out.

Thanks to the beautiful weather, vibrant colors, and the fact that I got to drive a golf cart around for a few hours, this was my favorite paid shoot I have ever done!! I had so much fun. At one point I was driving through a grove of trees laughing - just laughing to myself! I was so happy to be out there I couldn't contain myself. Just a bumbling, giggling fool on a golf cart with a camera, hahaha.

So then I had the wedding, and this just so happened to fall on the worst day of the season so far. Record rainfall. Yippee.

However! The wedding was awesome. Super relaxed, really joyful crowd, and although it was a backyard with a downpour it was still a beautiful day.

Which brings me to the Boardman Tree Farm trip! I shot [in my opinion] my best photo I've taken yet. I love it!! I am so excited. I went with this awesome guy named Mike (@mikbpdx), and on the way to there we made a stop at Rowena Crest. I've been wanting to shoot these two places for years.

We were the only ones at Rowena, and although we weren't the only ones at Boardman there was a nice thick layer of fog!! I could not believe how beautiful it was. Just the same as the other tree farm, I was literally running through the trees laughing like a madman!! Anyway I showed my coworker a photo from it and she said it reminds her of Peter Pan, hahaha. I guess that's not far off though, because sometimes I feel like a lost boy.

And lastly, I present one of my best shots to date:

And one last note, I have a post in Oregon Wild's blog, you should check it out! You can find it here.

Thank you all for reading. I'm really stoked about my 3am trip to Boardman and I hope something I said made you smile!
