Toketee the Gem
As busy as I've been recently, I haven't taken a lot of pictures. I guess this last week or two I've just wanted to enjoy things and put the camera down a bit. Not for long though! I still ended up getting some pictures.
The following two were taken on a beach trip I went on with my family! We hiked to one of the really cool viewpoints above this beach (where their dog almost died from running over the edge), found some sweet cliffs, and watched the sunset on Oswald West State Park.
I also had court for my stupid ticket, but the trial was pushed out another month. I asked for a reduced fine if I plead 'no contest', but the judge said no. So I said "Fine. Not guilty!"
To take my mind off the frustration, I dipped! I found out earlier that week about this place called Devil's Punchbowl on the coast, and decided now was the perfect time to check it out! How I had never heard of this place is beyond me though...
Also, my headlights finally work again, so I could finally drive at night!
Unfortunately it was all direct sunlight the whole weekend, so the pictures kinda sucked.
Funny story though! I pick up these hitchhikers, right? So we're driving for over an hour when I ask them to pick a place to be dropped off at. As we're heading there, we pass another vanagon, who also had their windows down. The hitchhikers yelled out to him - "What's up man?!"
Five minutes later we pull off to the side of the road and THAT VAN pulls over right in front of us! Dude gets out of his van, waves at my hitchhikers and goes "Hey! Do you guys need a ride?"
So they get out of my vanagon, into his, and they take off!! They told me in all their ten years of hitchhiking that has never happened to them, hahaha.
On a different note, I wanted to show you guys how good the stars were out there! I planned to do a timelapse of the Milky Way leading to Yaquina Head Lighthouse, but right after I took my first test shots some mist came in and kept collecting on the lense, rendering it useless. Thankfully, my test shot still looked pretty! (Keep in mind, you are not allowed in the park at night. Hehehe)
THEN, after a week of work I had a double weekend, split by two days of work in between. First weekend - pool party, cliff jumping, barbeque, sunset on the roof. Second weekend - Crater Lake, Toketee Falls, Toketee Lake, Umpqua hot springs.
Needless to say, I've been having a lot of fun recently :)
I'm also almost broke, but you know. Worth it.
